Beauty Diaries: Hala Reda on Her Favorite Make-Up Brands, Miracle Skincare Products, and In-Flight Must-Haves

Fashion consultant and event planner Hala Reda candidly shares with Harper's Bazaar Canada go-to products and routines that help keep her at perfection during travel from Riyadh to Beirut.

M ake-Up and Fragrance

Hala loves reading the latest trends on make-up products. She definitely enjoys experimenting with new items. A devout fan of Huda Beauty, she praises the brand for flattering Arab skin tones. Among her favorite blushes is the Patrick Ta Double-Take Crème & Powder Blush duo at Dhs 140. When night falls, she loves the Pat McGrath blush at Dhs 200, especially the Desert Orchid shade, which would impart the perfect shade of bronze shimmer at summertime.

For day, though, Hala prefers to use Rare Beauty's Cream Blush in Worth (Dhs130) for that healthy, dewy glow. Earthy nude tones enhance her eyes and flow beautifully with her skin.

Foundation and Concealer

Huda Beauty's Latte 300 N is definitely one of her fix foundations throughout the day as she needs extended full coverage. Tarte 29N concealer (Dhs145) has been a constant feature in her routine because it works.

Her go-to lip liners: Huda Beauty Terracotta, (Dhs90), if you want a thick line, or Charlotte Tilbury's Iconic Nude, (Dhs120), if you want a subtle type of vibe. She layers them up with lipsticks from Natasha Denona, mostly of the I Need A Nude shades 10 NB and 13 NB, (Dhs110), and Charlotte Tilbury's Pillow Talk, (Dhs160).

For her lashes, she swears by Huda Beauty mascara, Dhs140, to get voluminous looking lashes.

When it comes to perfume, the lady like Hala says she treats perfumes like her wardrobe changing according to the occasion. She has more than 50 perfumes. During the day, she likes lighter scents, but at night, she prefers stronger ones. "I use Tom Ford's White Suede Body Spray for the gym or running errands; Dhs360 for that," she says. She also loves layering, like the combination of Dior's Oud Ispahan (Dhs 1,120) with Mon Guerlain Sparkling Bouquet (Dhs 685) and Byredo's Rose of No Man's Land (Dhs 985), hands down, and her absolute favorites for layering are Montale's Rose Musk and Montale Dark Purple (Dhs 495).

Before applying foundation, Hala will prep her skin with the Tom Ford shimmery primer for the all-day glow. She combines it with Laura Mercier's illuminating primer to get the perfect base.

Hair

For 15 years Hala has had all her matters of hair -- from color to trims -- taken care of by Fadia Mendalak. For Hala, Fadia's "magic hands" ensure that her hair stays healthy and grows quickly. For that special occasion, she heads out to Assad Hair Salon for styling.

Hala maintains a routine skincare regimen. Among the essentials is Kerastase Resistance shampoo (Dhs150) and conditioner (Dhs175), which she always makes sure are on hand. When hitting the gym five times a week, she needs a refreshing Bumble and Bumble Prêt-à-powder dry shampoo mist at the end of each session (Dhs130).

Skincare

But then Hala has to really work on her skin. "Skincare is a priority, and I take time to keep my skin clean," she says. She begins her day with Sisley cleanser at Dhs590. Then, she adds a layer of SkinCeuticals Daily Moisture at Dhs290 to keep the skin hydrated. For an oily complexion, she uses La Roche-Posay's matte sun cream, while for times when applying it from her hand gets tiresome, she carries Shiseido's compact powder at Dhs150 with SPF 50 for reapplication throughout the day. During workouts, she takes advantage of the convenience of the Shiseido Clear Suncare Stick SPF50+ at Dhs235.

Her "miracle" product? Cicaplast Baume B5 (Dhs150), which she claims heals overnight after peels or laser treatments. She gets her skincare done at Dr. Nour Jerbeka's, as she appreciates natural beauty with an eye for the latest products.

In-Flight Essentials

Hala is very minimalist when traveling; she takes only the essentials: she packs a few make-up items, perfume, hand cream, and a toothbrush.

Manicure

Hala has manicures that look the same all year round. She cannot live without red in winter, and she cannot live without brighter new colors for summer.

Rihanna Resplendent in Gilded Luxury as the New Face of J'adore Perfume
By Isabelle Hutfield | September 2, 2024

A new chapter in J'adore begins.

Since the launch of J'adore Eau de Parfum back in 1999, it has gained an enormous amount of love around the globe for its fresh and floral magnolia, peach, pear, melon, mandarin orange, and bergamot. No less iconic is Charlize Theron, who's been representing this fragrance since 2004 and embodies all that a fragrance should be - the elan vital.

Now, the perfume launches a new era with the global superstar and entrepreneur Rihanna as the face of J'adore L'Or. Rihanna unveiled in an intriguing campaign by Steven Klein against the backdrop of Versailles halls conveyed all the richness and greatness of the fragrance.

Here, Rihanna who was Dior's first Black female ambassador in 2015, can be seen absolutely stunning wearing a strapless gold corset set and the matching choker designed by Dior's creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri; her silhouette mirroring the iconic shape of the J'adore bottle, originally designed by Hervé Van Der Straeten.

Rihanna shines in this new campaign as she epitomises the spirit of J'adore L'Or in a bold, vibrant new chapter for the iconic fragrance.
